Photos and Write-Ups

Confirmed  Kidpreneurs Only!

We want to advertise for you!

One of the best ways to advertise is through social media! With your help, we can spread the word about your business and get potential customers excited about your products/services! The best part? You can use the photos & write-up to advertise too!

There are two things we need:

  1. Two to eight photos (headshots and/or product photos).

  2. A write-up about your business

  • Deadline: October 4, 2024

  • Email photos and write-ups to: kidpreneurlubbock@gmail.com

  • Please submit one write-up per business. If you are in a team of 2-3 kidpreneurs, you will need to work together to create one write-up. {Parents: if you have multiple children that are participating in separate businesses, please submit the write-ups individually to avoid confusion.)

Read below for some optional photography tips (using a phone!) and a quick how-to for the type of write-up we are looking for! You may need a parent or someone to help you with your photos, feel free to ask for help if you need it!

Headshot Photography Tips

  1. Ask a parent or friend to take the photo (don't take a selfie)!

  2. Use a neutral/plain background - Like a blank wall

  3. Use natural lighting - take your photo mid-day by a window (not against the widow but beside it) or outdoors in the shade

  4. If shooting indoors, turn off all the lights in the room and refer to #3 - use natural light only!

  5. Wear something nice!

  6. Relax your shoulders and stand with your body angled slightly away from the camera

  7. Give your lens a quick clean before you start taking any photos by wiping it with a lens cloth (like the kind you use on glasses)

  8. Use HDR mode on the portrait setting (if your phone has one), turn flash off, hold the phone steady, leave some headroom at the top of the photo

  9. SMILE and let your personality shine!!! Show excitement about your business!

  10. Try editing your photo with any free photo editing app. Don't add any crazy filters, just make sure your picture is bright, has contrast, is the right color tone, etc.

Product Photography Tips

  1. Use a neutral/plain background

  2. Use natural lighting - take your photos mid-day by a window (not against the window, beside it)

  3. Turn off all the lights in the room and refer to #2 - use natural light only!

  4. Use a table so that your products sit higher, which will make it easier for you to photograph them

  5. Try different product arrangements until the photo looks great!

  6. Try shooting directly from above and straight on

  7. Give your lens a quick clean before you start taking any photos by wiping it with a lens cloth (like the kind you use on glasses)

  8. Use HDR mode, hold the phone steady, turn flash off, don't use zoom

  9. Try editing your photo with any free photo editing app! Don't add any crazy filters, just make sure your picture is bright, has contrast, is the right color tone, etc.
